Mass
Cards
A "Mass card" is the record of a Mass celebrated for the intention of the person
making the request -- commonly for the repose of the soul of a friend or relative who has
died, although the intention can be for the needs of a living person. Mass cards are
available at the rectory. We regret that we cannot accept requests for Mass cards by
web, mail, or phone; all requests must be made in person.Sacramental Records
When a person receives a sacrament (Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, or
Marriage) in St. Hugh's a permanent record is kept by the parish. Certificates drawn
from those records are available from the rectory office by request. You may call
631-427-0638, or e-mail parish@sthugh.org. We
request an offering of $5 to cover secretarial and mailing costs.
Joining St. Hugh's
Please visit the rectory if you wish to join the parish. Hours are immediately
below.
Rectory Office-Hours
The Rectory Office is open Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM (closed
from 12:00PM to 1pm for lunch). On Saturdays it is open from 9AM until 3PM. Directions to the rectory may be
found here.
Appointments with Priests and Deacons
Priests and deacons on the parish staff maintain their own schedules of appointments.
You may call or e-mail the rectory office
with a request for an appointment and if the person is not immediately available he will
return your call or e-mail as soon as possible.
Sacrament of the Sick ("Last
Rites")
The Sacrament of the Sick should not be postponed until just before the moment of death.
It is meant to restore spiritual health to those who are ill, and should be given
to anyone who is not able to join fully in ordinary life due to illness. The
Sacrament is celebrated after the 11:45AM Sunday Mass each week for those able to come to
Mass. For the homebound, please call the rectory so that a priest can schedule a
visit. (Please note that Huntington Hospital has its own chaplaincy, and that calls
to St. Hugh's for an anointing at the hospital will be delayed as the call is rerouted.)
